Italian insurtech Wopta Assicurazioni has closed a €5 million hybrid funding round supported by Make Your Credit, in a deal the company said was not entirely equity-based.
The Capriolo-based company said the new financing brings its total capital raised since 2022 to more than €20 million and implies a valuation of over €100 million. Earlier funding was subscribed by more than 70 Italian families and business angels through five investor club deals.
Wopta, which provides insurance products for families, businesses and professionals, also reported positive EBITDA, €5 million in revenue and more than €20 million in brokered premiums. The company said it now works with over 4,000 distribution partners and serves more than 220,000 insured customers.
The round comes as Wopta also points to early consolidation moves, with its first two acquisitions, Zanni Broker and GM Insurance Broker, adding to its recent growth story.
