UroMems, a Grenoble, France-based medical technology company developing implantable treatments for stress urinary incontinence, has raised a $60 million strategic investment, according to a May 13 announcement.

The entire round was financed by Ajax Health Fund I, making it the company’s largest fundraising to date. UroMems said the capital will fund large-scale pivotal clinical trials of its UroActive implant in the U.S. and France, support completion of the ongoing SOPHIA2 clinical trial across 21 investigational centers, and help prepare regulatory submissions in multiple markets including the U.S. and Europe.

UroMems is developing UroActive as a smart automated artificial urinary sphincter implant for treating stress urinary incontinence. The funding is also expected to support the company’s commercialization efforts as it moves toward potential approval in key markets.
