Superlight, a commercial electric vehicle startup based in Yateley, England, has raised an oversubscribed $21 million Series A round co-led by Engine Ventures and 2150, the company said on June 22. The financing brings Superlight’s total funding to date to $33 million.

The company is developing purpose-built electric trucks for middle mile logistics, using aerospace design principles and a software-centric vehicle and manufacturing architecture. Superlight said the new capital will go toward completing its UK manufacturing facility, supporting initial sales in the UK and EU, and providing federalized vehicles for customer testing ahead of a planned US market entry.

The raise comes as interest in electrifying commercial fleets extends beyond last-mile delivery into the middle mile segment, where operators are under pressure to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs. Superlight is positioning itself around that gap with a digital-first, AI-native production system and vehicles designed specifically for electric use rather than adapted from diesel platforms.
