Lys Therapeutics, a French biotech developing treatments for neurodegenerative and neurovascular diseases, said it has raised more than €25 million since its founding in 2021.

The financing includes a grant of more than $5 million from The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, alongside support from Bpifrance, France 2030 and private investors.

The funding will be used to complete regulatory studies, prepare manufacturing and support the clinical entry of LYS241 in a biomarker-rich Phase 1a/1b program. The company is advancing LYS241, a monoclonal antibody targeting the tPA-NMDAr axis, for indications including Parkinson's disease, related synucleinopathies and ischemic stroke.

The announcement marks a key step for the company as it moves its lead candidate from preclinical development toward first-in-human studies.
