Skyfora, a Finnish weather data company based in Bergen, Norway, has raised €6.5 million in fresh funding to scale its atmospheric data platform, which turns telecom infrastructure into a real-time weather sensor network.

Ugly Duckling Ventures led the round, with equity participation from Eviny Ventures, Lumo Labs and the European Innovation Council Fund, alongside non-dilutive funding from Business Finland.

The company uses cell towers and base stations to generate high-resolution atmospheric data for AI weather models and short-term forecasting. The new funding will support commercial scale-up, partnership expansion with telecom operators and forecasting groups, team growth, broader deployment and market adoption, including the rollout of its real-time data products, API and dashboard.

The raise comes as demand grows for denser, faster weather data to improve forecasting accuracy across industries affected by climate and operational volatility.
