Sintropy AI, a Milan-based startup developing energy efficiency technology for retail and agri-food operations, has raised €1 million in a seed funding round led by Maia Ventures, with participation from FPR.

The company installs proprietary wireless sensors on existing air conditioning systems and kitchen equipment, then uses an AI platform to monitor consumption, detect inefficiencies and automate energy optimization. Its offering targets food and non-food retail as well as agri-food production environments, where energy costs remain a growing operational concern.

Sintropy.AI said the new funding will be used to accelerate development of its product and AI layer, expand its team from 12 people to around 20 by 2026, and grow adoption among retail chains and agri-food companies in Italy and across Europe.
