NEX is developing an AI-powered infection intelligence platform designed to help hospitals detect, predict and prevent healthcare-associated infections before they spread. The company says the technology, developed at Imperial College London, is intended to help clinical teams identify infection risks earlier, understand possible transmission patterns and respond before outbreaks escalate.
The new funding will be used to expand the platform across hospitals in the UK and international markets, alongside regulatory and clinical safety work. NEX also plans to generate clinical and economic evidence from live deployments as it looks to build its case with healthcare providers.
The round comes as healthcare-associated infections and antimicrobial resistance remain major operational and patient safety challenges for hospitals, driving pressure for earlier detection and prevention tools.
