Brainjo, a digital health startup based in Regensburg, has raised €2 million in seed funding in a round led by High-Tech Gründerfonds. Other investors include better ventures and Andreas Weinhut.
The company develops virtual reality-based digital health applications designed to complement conventional psychotherapy, with an initial focus on ADHD treatment for children. Brainjo said the new funding will be used for clinical validation, clinical studies, further product development and preparations for regulatory approval of its first VR-based digital health application.
The raise comes as digital therapeutics companies continue to explore new approaches for addressing gaps in mental health care, including limited therapy capacity and long waiting times.
