The EIC support includes a €2.5 million grant and €6 million in equity. The seed round was led by Futury Capital, with participation from SPRIND, Kensho Ventures, and High-Tech Gründerfonds.
Pixel Photonics develops high-performance single-photon detector technology, including patented waveguide-integrated superconducting nanowire single-photon detectors. The company said the funding will be used to move its technology from laboratory setups into robust, scalable industrial products, accelerate market entry, and expand the platform into broader application areas.
The financing comes as European investors and public institutions look to strengthen the region’s position in quantum technologies and related photonics infrastructure.
