Cambridge-based Alchemab Therapeutics has extended its Series A financing with a £25 million investment from the British Business Bank, in what the bank described as its largest investment in a life sciences company so far.

The new funding brings Alchemab’s total Series A raised to £109 million. The clinical-stage biotechnology company plans to use the capital to expand its AI-enabled clinical pipeline, advance additional candidates into development, and grow its proprietary antibody dataset from 500 million to more than one billion sequences.

Founded in 2019, Alchemab is developing therapeutics based on antibodies identified in disease-resilient individuals through its Resiliome platform, which combines antibody sequencing, AI and lab validation. The raise highlights continued investor interest in AI-led drug discovery platforms, particularly those with growing clinical ambitions.
