Central Garden & Pet has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire a majority interest in TRIXIE Heimtierbedarf GmbH & Co. KG, a Tarp, Germany-based supplier of pet products and snacks, for an undisclosed amount.
Founded in 1974, TRIXIE serves more than 30,000 pet retail stores internationally and offers over 6,000 products across categories including dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, and small animals. The company is known for its scale in European pet supplies, along with its logistics and fulfillment capabilities.
Following the deal, TRIXIE will operate within Central’s Pet segment. Current shareholders Dirk Jessen and Volker Haak will remain minority shareholders after the transaction closes, while founder Bonnik Hansen is selling his stake as part of the agreement.
The transaction is expected to close in the first half of Central’s fiscal 2027, subject to regulatory approval and customary closing conditions.
