Stockholm-based Tonada has emerged from stealth with backing from RTP Global and a group of operators and music-industry veterans, including Vercel CEO Guillermo Rauch and Last.fm founder Michael Breidenbrücker. The company did not disclose a funding amount or round.

Founded in 2026, Tonada is building an AI-generated sound platform for retail and hospitality. Its system creates brand-specific, royalty-free music catalogs and adapts what is played in real time using signals such as point-of-sale data, occupancy, foot traffic, time of day, weather, and local events.

The startup was founded by former Spotify engineering lead Juan Manuel Serruya and former Wolt sales executive Jonathan Andersson. It says it already has paying customers across Scandinavia, the DACH region, and Singapore, positioning its product as infrastructure for how physical spaces sound and operate.
