Munich-based SPiNE has raised €3 million in a Series A round to expand its software platform for energy management and decentralized energy systems.
The round was led by Bayerische Beteiligungsgesellschaft (BayBG) and the Smart Energy Innovationsfonds of Energie 360°. VERBUND X Ventures joined with a follow-on investment, while existing backers Bayern Kapital, Scrape Ventures, and Superangels also participated.
SPiNE develops middleware for real-time energy data processing, secure grid-compliant control, and connectivity across decentralized energy assets. The funding comes as energy companies and grid operators face growing pressure to manage more distributed infrastructure and meet regulatory requirements tied to smart meter rollout and grid digitalization.
