Quantum Systems, a Munich-based drone manufacturer focused on military and autonomous systems, has signed a $1.2 billion Series D round, marking one of the larger defence tech financings in Europe this year.

The round values the company at about $8 billion post-money and was co-led by Blackstone, Noteus, Airbus and Advent. Additional backers include BOND, Fidelity Management & Research Company, Wellington Management, A.P. Moller Holding, Elephant Lake Ventures, and existing investors Balderton and HV Capital.

Founded by Florian Seibel, Hendrik Kramer, Martin Karkour, Matthias Lehna, Jonas Jarosch and Sven Kruck, Quantum Systems said the new capital will be used to expand production capacity, strengthen supply chain resilience, scale deliveries across allied markets, and continue investing in software and AI capabilities.

The deal underscores continued investor appetite for European defence and autonomy companies as governments and industry push to build domestic industrial capacity and next-generation military systems.
