Singapore-based generative AI startup Prem has closed a $14 million strategic seed round, with backing from David Maisel, founder of Marvel Studios, Fan Zhang, co-founder of Sequoia Capital China, and Alan Lipschitz, founder of Incubeta.

Prem is building tools aimed at helping companies adopt generative AI while keeping control of their data. Its product lineup includes Prem App, an open-source alternative to ChatGPT, and the Prem Platform, which is designed to help businesses integrate generative AI into existing products and SaaS offerings.

The company said it will use the new funding to further develop the Prem Platform for enterprise customers and to expand research and development on its proprietary Autonomous Fine-tuning Agent, a system intended to help businesses build custom AI models and workflows more quickly.

The round highlights continued investor interest in infrastructure and tooling for enterprise AI, particularly among startups focused on data ownership, customization, and deployment flexibility.
