Prelude, a Paris-based startup building onboarding and trust infrastructure for digital services, has raised $20 million in a Series A round led by 20VC, with participation from existing investors Singular, Seedcamp, Deel and FDJ UNITED Ventures.

The company said the new financing brings total funding to $27 million. The round comes as businesses face rising pressure to verify legitimate users while filtering out fraud, bots and AI-driven abuse across digital onboarding flows.

Prelude develops verification, authentication, intelligence and anti-fraud tools designed to help companies determine who is actually present in a device and session. Its technology combines device integrity, behavioral signals, network fingerprints and carrier-level checks.

According to the company, the new capital will go toward deeper telecom partnerships, expanding its Lookup API coverage across Europe and other markets, continued investment in machine learning models, and hiring across engineering, telco partnerships and customer success.

The funding announcement was made alongside the launch of two new products, Prelude Auth and Intel API, as the company broadens its platform beyond phone verification into a wider trust and authentication stack.
