Pillar, a Milan-based startup building an AI-native operating system for construction companies, has raised a €12 million seed round announced on May 12, 2026.

The round was co-led by Base10 and Earlybird, with participation from Emblem and Italian Founders Fund, and support from CDP Venture Capital SGR through the Digital Transition Fund.

Founded by Gabriel Guinea Montalvo, Pillar is developing a unified platform for the construction industry that brings together cash flow management, invoicing, quoting, site accounting, procurement, document handling, and a WhatsApp-based AI assistant for job sites. The company is targeting a sector that still relies heavily on spreadsheets, fiscal portals, paper documentation, and legacy software.

Pillar said the new funding will be used for continued product development and scaling as it expands its platform across the Italian construction market.
