Munich-based robotics startup mkind has raised €3 million in a pre-seed funding round backed by Possible Ventures, alongside Lucid Capital, Kvanted, Fortino Capital, and angel investors including the founders of RIPPERT GmbH & Co. KG and Thomas Wolf of Hugging Face.

The company is developing AI-native robotic work cells for surface finishing, welding, and coating in manufacturing. Its system is designed to learn new parts in minutes without code, targeting industrial tasks that have traditionally been difficult to automate because of their variability and reliance on manual labor.

The investment comes as manufacturers across Europe face persistent labor shortages and growing pressure to automate complex, high-mix production processes. For mkind, the new funding is expected to support the development of its flexible robotics platform at an early stage.
