The company said the round brings its total funding to £8.5 million. Imperagen is developing a platform that combines quantum physics simulation, problem-specific AI models, and automated robotics to speed up enzyme engineering across sectors including pharmaceuticals, life sciences, personal care, sustainable fine chemicals, and industrial biotech.
The new capital will be used over the next 18 months to accelerate R&D, expand wet lab capabilities, grow the in-house AI team, and build out its go-to-market function as it looks to scale its platform from Manchester.
