Greyparrot, a London-based AI waste intelligence company, has raised $27 million in Series B funding led by technology investor Omar Mir.

The funding will support the global expansion of Greyparrot’s platform, including growth across North America and Europe, as well as new hires across its AI, data science and product teams. The company said the investment will also support its goal of helping abate more than one million tonnes of waste by 2030.

The announcement comes after Greyparrot said its AI systems had detected more than one trillion waste objects. Its camera-based Analyzers are used in recycling facilities to identify materials, products and brands in real time, while its Deepnest platform helps brands assess how packaging performs after disposal.

The round reflects growing demand for better waste and packaging data as recyclers, brands and regulators face increasing pressure to improve recovery rates, compliance and visibility into material flows.
