The capital will primarily fund a Phase 2b clinical trial of EBX-102-02, the company’s lead candidate for irritable bowel syndrome with constipation. The randomized, placebo-controlled study is expected to enroll around 300 patients in the UK, marking a significant next step for the program after earlier Phase 2a results.
Beyond the lead trial, EnteroBiotix said the funding will support its broader clinical pipeline, manufacturing scale-up, and ongoing research and development. Founded in 2017 by Dr James McIlroy, the company has now raised more than £65 million to date, adding fresh momentum to efforts to bring microbiome-based medicines into later-stage development.
