Belgium-based D-CRBN has received a €2.5 million grant, adding to momentum after the company recently closed a €17.5 million Series A round led by Astaia, with participation from SFPIM and the EIC Fund.
D-CRBN is developing electrified plasma technology that converts CO2-rich off-gases and hydrocarbons into carbon monoxide and syngas, key inputs for sustainable fuels, chemicals, and materials. The company said the funding will support the scale-up of its reactor technology and help move industrial pilots toward early commercial deployment.
The latest grant follows a €2.5 million EIC Accelerator award in 2023, which was presented as validation of D-CRBN’s technology and its fit with Europe’s climate and industrial priorities. With industrial pilots already underway in steel and chemicals, the company is positioning itself at the intersection of deep tech, decarbonisation, and supply security.
