The round was co-led by GordonMD Global Investments LP and Merck Ventures B.V., an affiliate of Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany, with participation from T. Andera Partners SAS, Bpifrance Investissement through its InnoBio 3 Fund, L.P., and Lamond Ventures LLC.
The funding will support the clinical development of EG110A, Cyllene’s lead DNA medicine candidate for severe neurogenic bladder conditions, and help expand its HERMES non-replicating HSV-1 platform in neurology.
The financing comes alongside the company’s rebrand from EG 427 to Cyllene Therapeutics, marking a new phase for the biotech as it pushes its lead program toward later-stage development.
