CCRAFT, a Neuchâtel-based Swiss deep-tech company developing photonic chips, has completed an oversubscribed $7.8 million funding round to expand manufacturing of its thin-film lithium niobate technology.

The round was led by QBIT Capital and included Zürcher Kantonalbank, Apprecia Capital, Spacewalk, Blue Wonder Ventures, and a European AI infrastructure operator. CCRAFT said it has also secured more than $3.5 million in public funding and cantonal support.

The company plans to use the new capital to advance its technical roadmap toward an industrialized production line, add manufacturing capacity in Neuchâtel, and support delivery to key Tier-1 customers. The funding comes as demand rises for photonic chips used in AI data centers, communications, quantum technologies, and navigation.

A spin-off from CSEM, CCRAFT is positioning itself as an independent foundry for next-generation photonic integrated circuits, with plans to scale production in Switzerland over the coming years.
