Agriodor, a Rennes-based agtech startup spun out of INRAE, has raised €15 million in a Series A round led by Crédit Mutuel Impact, with backing from CAAP Création and Syngenta.

Founded in 2019, the company develops crop protection products based on semiochemicals and natural plant scents that influence insect behaviour by repelling or attracting pests, rather than killing them with conventional pesticides. Its approach is designed to protect crops without harming beneficial insects.

The new funding will support the expansion of Agriodor’s product portfolio beyond sugar beet into pest categories including fruit flies, whiteflies, and thrips. It will also fund growth across Europe, Latin America, and North America, support the use of AI in chemical ecology research, and strengthen the company’s 15 R&D partnerships spanning Europe, China, and Brazil.

The round highlights continued investor interest in biological and lower-impact crop protection technologies as agriculture faces rising pest resistance, tighter regulation, and pressure to reduce damage to biodiversity.
