AethexAI, a London-based startup building voice AI infrastructure for customer support and service in Africa and the Middle East, has raised $3 million in pre-seed funding. The round was led by 4DX Ventures, with participation from Enza Capital, Dorm Room Fund, Mojo Ventures, and Stanford GSB 26 Fund.

Founded last year by Mariama Diallo and Ayooluwa Odemuyiwa, the company is focused on voice models and orchestration designed for localized dialects of English, French, and Arabic, with an emphasis on low-latency performance in regional markets.

The new funding will support the launch of AethexAI’s enterprise platform, as well as APIs and SDKs for developers. The company also plans to hire forward-deployed engineers and build channel partnerships with telecom providers as it expands its footprint across Africa and the Middle East.

The raise comes as voice AI gains traction in customer support, while startups targeting emerging markets seek to address language, infrastructure, and deployment challenges that larger global platforms have often overlooked.
