London-based Yope, an AI-native private social platform focused on micro communities, has raised $12.3 million in a Pre-Series A round led by Northzone, with participation from Inovo, Redseed and Geek Ventures.

The company said the new financing brings its total funding to $20 million. Yope plans to use the capital to double its team and speed up product development.

Founded in 2021, Yope is building a private social platform for close friends and families, using AI to turn shared photos and videos into personalized recaps and a private archive. The company reports more than 14 million users and says over half a billion photos and videos have been shared on the platform.

The round highlights continued investor interest in social products built around smaller, private networks rather than public feeds, particularly those aimed at younger users.
