Tentris, a Bielefeld-based startup developing storage and analytics infrastructure for knowledge graphs, has raised €2 million in pre-seed funding to accelerate the development of TentrisDB.

The round was led by Bloomhaus Ventures AG, with participation from Vanagon, āltitude, 10x Value Partners, and Dr. Pascal Wichmann. The financing was also supported by public innovation funding through exist - from science to business, backed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.

Founded in 2024, Tentris is building a natively polylingual storage solution for knowledge graphs that can be queried with SPARQL and GraphQL. The company says its graph-specific data structures, processing methods, and compression algorithms enable scaling to billions of triples on commodity hardware, with query performance improvements of up to 100x. Its technology has already been applied in areas including chemistry, pharmacy, and Industry 4.0.
