Berlin-based defence tech startup Project Q has raised €15 million in Series A funding, in a round led by Expeditions with participation from Project A, HENSOLDT, and Heliad.
Founded in 2024 by Leonard Wessendorff, the company develops software designed to connect civilian technologies with military applications. Project Q said the new capital will be used primarily to further develop HYDRIS, its open-source integration and orchestration layer for armed forces and government agencies.
The funding comes as defence organisations face growing pressure to integrate commercially available technologies, legacy systems, and data sources more quickly. Project Q is positioning HYDRIS as a vendor-agnostic layer aimed at improving interoperability and speeding up deployment in increasingly software-defined defence environments.
