Pixel-Flo, a Sheffield-based University of Sheffield spin-out, has raised £5.3 million in seed funding in an oversubscribed round led by Northern Gritstone, with participation from SCVC, Parkwalk’s Northern Universities Venture Fund, and HTGF.

The company is developing Continuous-Flo mass transfer technology designed to tackle a key manufacturing bottleneck in MicroLED displays. Pixel-Flo says its approach aims to reduce production costs and improve scalability, an issue that has slowed wider commercial adoption of MicroLED technology.

The new funding will be used to move the business from laboratory development toward industrial scale-up, including team expansion, a move to new lab and office space, and a commercial demonstration of the technology. The round also positions the company to begin deeper evaluation and partnership discussions with display manufacturing partners.
