Modern Relay has announced the closing of a 3 million USD seed funding round to advance its development of a shared infrastructure layer for enterprise AI agents. The startup which maintains operations in San Francisco and Barcelona intends to use the capital to build foundational systems that connect people, policies, data, and decisions within an organization.

The investment round was led by Point Nine. Additional participation came from Emerge, Amino Collective, Common Magic, and a group of angel investors including Charlie Songhurst, Michael Boehler, and Thomas Clozel.

Modern Relay plans to prioritize the development of its open source graph database. The company aims to provide a unified organizational context for software and teams as enterprise adoption of AI agents continues to increase.
