Doctolib has acquired London-based GP software company Medicus for an undisclosed amount, marking a further push into the UK primary care market.

Alongside the deal, Doctolib said it plans to invest more than £100 million in the UK over the coming years. The company intends to hire 150 people in London, establish a dedicated R&D centre, and expand technology, AI and services for GP practices across the country.

Medicus will continue to operate with founder and chief executive Emile Axelrad leading the business, while its UK-based team remains in place. The combination is aimed at strengthening software and support for clinical and administrative teams in NHS primary care.

The acquisition adds to Doctolib’s broader European healthcare footprint, where the company says it serves more than 40,000 GPs, 500,000 health professionals and 1,000 hospitals.
