Demetra Group has completed the acquisition of Maxxspine Innovative GmbH, a Germany-based spinal surgery device company, in a deal aimed at strengthening its position in the spine market. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The acquisition was carried out through Osartis GmbH, a Demetra Group company, which has taken 100% ownership and full control of Maxxspine. Founded in 2010 and based in Eltville, Germany, Maxxspine develops and distributes medical devices for spinal surgery and has built a presence in the German market alongside a growing international footprint.
Following the transaction, Osartis will assume global responsibility for Maxxspine's operations and work with the existing management team on integration and business continuity. The deal adds to Demetra's spine portfolio and signals further consolidation in the medical device sector, particularly in specialized surgical technologies.
