Swedish legal tech company Lightbringer has raised €4.2 million in a funding round led by Luminar Ventures and Alliance VC, as the startup looks to expand beyond its home market and establish a presence in Cambridge, UK.
Founded in 2023 and headquartered in Malmö, Lightbringer is building an AI-driven platform for patent protection. The company says its software acts as a virtual IP department, helping tech businesses refine ideas, develop patent strategies, analyse patent landscapes and streamline the application process with patent attorney oversight.
The new funding will support international expansion, with Cambridge identified as its first step outside Sweden. The move places Lightbringer in one of the UK’s most active innovation hubs as demand grows for tools that can help startups and scale-ups navigate intellectual property more efficiently.
