TrueLayer has acquired Dutch fintech in3, a specialist in consumer credit via bank payments, in a move that broadens its Pay by Bank offering beyond debit at checkout. Financial terms were not disclosed.
The acquisition gives TrueLayer a route into credit products, starting with buy now, pay later, while allowing consumers to choose between paying immediately or over time through the same bank payment flow. in3 will continue operating from the Netherlands as its technology and products are integrated into the TrueLayer platform.
The deal reflects a wider shift in European fintech as payment infrastructure providers look to expand their role at checkout and reduce reliance on traditional card networks. It also adds to a broader trend of consolidation across the sector as firms seek scale, new capabilities and stronger positions ahead of regulatory changes in consumer credit.
