Stockholm startup Fika has raised an oversubscribed $4 million pre-seed round, equivalent to SEK 35 million, as investors continue to back new approaches to recruitment technology.

The round was led by Luminar Ventures, with participation from Alliance VC, Wave Ventures, and a group of unnamed angels and builders.

Fika operates Fika Jobs, an AI-enabled hiring platform designed to move beyond CV-based screening. The company says its product uses video conversations with an AI agent to help candidates share their experience, motivations, and preferences, while giving employers a broader view of potential hires and their fit for specific roles and teams.

The funding signals investor interest in startups trying to reshape early-stage hiring workflows, particularly as companies look for alternatives to traditional screening methods and more context-rich candidate evaluation.
