Cornea Sense, an Aalto University spinout based in Espoo, Finland, has completed a pre-seed financing round of more than €1.1 million to advance its ophthalmic diagnostic technology.

The round included private investment from Innovestor Angel CoFund and a group of angel investors, including Matts Linder and Patrick Aisher, alongside support from a Business Finland R&D grant.

Cornea Sense is developing a medical diagnostic device designed to help eye doctors diagnose and monitor ophthalmic and metabolic diseases through direct ocular surface hydration data. The company said the funding will support prototype development, technical and clinical de-risking, and the validation work needed to move toward a scalable diagnostic product.
