Lausanne-based Carewell has raised CHF 1.5 million in seed funding to scale its digital healthcare staffing marketplace, as providers across Switzerland continue to face pressure around absences, shift coverage, and workforce shortages.
The round was led by StartAngels Network, with participation from SICTIC, Kickfund, and business angels. Carewell is also a Venture Kick alumni.
Carewell provides hospitals, nursing homes, and home-care organizations with a single digital interface to manage absences and replacements. Its platform combines internal pool management with access to an external network of qualified professionals, using AI-powered matching to help fill shifts more quickly and reduce administrative workload.
The company says its software is already used by more than 50 healthcare organizations. The new funding will be used to support commercial expansion across Switzerland, particularly in the German-speaking market, further develop its matching technology and mobile app, and grow its engineering, operations, and sales teams.
