Avendar, a GovTech and AI startup based in Amsterdam, has raised €2.2 million in seed funding to expand its platform for critical investigations and intelligence used by public institutions. The round was led by LUMO Labs and the Brabant Development Agency, or BOM.

The company develops an end-to-end AI platform that helps public sector organisations turn fragmented data into actionable insights through automated analysis and signal detection. Its technology is designed to support crime and fraud investigations, an area where many institutions still rely heavily on manual processes.

Avendar says the new funding will be used to grow its engineering and product teams, improve AI capabilities and platform scalability, and speed up its commercial expansion across Europe. The startup already counts the Dutch National Police and the Municipality of Amsterdam among its users.

Before this seed round, Avendar had also received support from the Rabobank Innovation Loan, the Brabant Startup Fund, and the BIM Startersfonds.
